Reaching – Poetry

I was reaching for a dream

A figment of my imagination

I was reaching for love and pillow talk

I was reaching for arguments and make up sex

I was reaching for long walks and holidays together

I was reaching for surprise parties and baby clothes

I was reaching for a dream

A figment of my imagination

I was reaching for you

HELP ME IM BURRIED IN GRIEF!

I swept grief in a nice neat pile and one day it busted out and assaulted me.

Grief doesn’t want you perusing it, it does what it wants when it wants

Grief isn’t just a neat wound you can dress, the healing is in living

Grief reminds us that weonce loved

Grief pushed me into education

Grief- I suck at this kind of talk

Grief is cold Callous and matter of fact

Grief forces you to get a permission slip

Grief hides for a little while but there it goes again

Grief makes me feel like I’m floating unable to ground myself

Grief- I buried it, ohh but the roots are so deeply attached

I do not deserve to live in this pain

Mourning

I listened to his heart beat

I wrapped my legs between his feet

I watched him sleep and tucked him safely away in the warmth of my sheets

I played with his ears

Somehow that soothed my fears

About

Mourning

I scaled his face with my point finger

And I cried

Because

Mourning

Was well on its way

Widowed

My ring finger holds a secret

A lingering

To be remembered

Opposite side

It sits heavy

Where two worlds collide

My right hand is covered

But my ring finger died

There is no growing season

Twilight moons have become full blown

The growl in my aches have turned full grown

I am childlike from these moans

My pen and paper have turned stones

From the weight of this wind

And death has become my companion

Widowed

Grief

Grief | Inklings and Wonderings

Chimes

Like life

Ringing through ripples and worlds

Tears made brick

The thought that thinks

I have memories sleeping in the cracks of my walls

And faces urging me to acknowledge them

From beyond these grief filled halls

Swells enter corners of my pillow

So I listen…

For the universe

To tell me

I am not alone
