I am a sucker for love and a sob story; I am definitely for the underdog. I am a little weird but very loving, I am perfectly imperfect but shhhh don’t tell anyone (:I wrote a poetry book called Mental Notes  in 2011 about addiction and all the insanity associated with it. I have randomly been posting pieces of the book to my blog. Here is the kindle link for a preview http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005SFS54U/ref=rdr_kindle_ext_tmb  I am so grateful for the road I am traveling.

There is way too much I can say about me but I won’t bore you with my way to boring bio. We all have one common bond, we love to write.

I am still trying to figure all this out (life) in the meantime I will do what the universe has called me to do…write

2013 update 2 times published Mental Notes 2 “Grey Areas” take a peek inside the book just click on the link http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00C333YGO/ref=rdr_kindle_ext_tmb

  12. Wow! What an introduction…….you have faced some tough monsters, but you have taken the right road to overcoming them. I wish you every strength and happiness in keeping it that way. Like you, I’m also with the underdog, and a lot of my writing is to give voice to those whose voices aren’t heard. I look forward to reading your poetry.

    1. YES, I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE HELPFUL TO TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT ME ON MY ABOUT PAGE SO THERE ARE NO SURPRISES WHEN READERS START READING SOME OF MY REAL LIFE POETRY. I AM A LOT OF THINGS AND FREE IS ONE OF THEM. THANKS AGAIN (:

  13. Thanks for following The Elephant! Love and acceptance are beautiful energies…I’m experiencing both right now, and trying to make creative use of this wave of energy! Keep up the joy! The Elephant

  14. You have a deep and conceptual plethora of poetry that is QI (quite interesting). I’m thankful to have you following my blog and I hope that my own poetry can inspire you and vice versa.

  15. Hi Latoya. Nice to hear from you. Than you so much for liking my poem ‘Often Unseen’ and for following my blog. Hope to communicate with you again soon. A Very Happy Christmas and New Year. Best Wishes, The Foureyed Poet.

  16. You do have a most delightful smile, This I find especially wondrous in view of the difficulties you here describe.

And, if you truly are “a sucker” for a mushy, sob-laden, love story, ours, mine and that of my beloved, is the better part of a century old. So quite long and quite heavy laden with such feelings. Definitely the stuff to make one weep, I should think. Much of it is recounted in my sonnets.

Although I do not know whether you have, or if you should desire to acquire a taste for such verse. I think you might describe it as “Old School,” having first been invented some time in the 1200’s, (I am not quite that old) and having been expounded upon by Petrarch in the 1300’s and later, by Spenser and Shakespeare.

Come have another look, if you please! Start from the beginning if you dare! I realise that such things are not for everyone; However sometimes when one dives more deeply in to the lives and times of others–if one dares–the rewards may be deeper still.

  17. Thank you for stopping by, liking, and following! 😉 You know, I am going to enjoy visiting and following your site as well. I always feel more “normal” (yeah, right) when I read things from women that have same/similar things motorcycling through their brain as I do….My site is rife with poems about THE love lost in my life…that one big huge love two centuries past eternity love of my life. Keep visiting! I hope you keep liking! it may be winter now, but it is still good to roam around my koi pond and watch the leaves drop onto my Zen gravel garden…..

    1. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR FOLLOWING MY BLOG, YOUR COMMENT WAS AWSOME. IT IS ALWAYS GOOD TO KNOW WE ARE NOT ALONE IN SOME OF THOSE ISSUES I WROTE ABOUT, WERE GONNA MOVE THOSE MOUNTAINS MY SISTA. ONE DAY AT A TIME AND IT ALWAYS HELPS TO KNOW ROME WAS NOT BUILT IN ONE DAY (:

  19. Thank you for following my blog! I hope you’ll find me even half as interesting as you are!
Congratulations on being clean for over 2 years! WTG
Feelings are only storms passing through. They’re not who you are.

  20. Thank you Latoya for liking my post and following my blog! I am new to this community and the blogging world, I have another blog in blogspot with my nickname, cuca, and it is called Cosas de la Cuca, or Cuca’s things, is bilingual Spanish/English since I am from Argentina. So, yes, I am always divided between Maria de los Angeles and Cuca, one is the piano teacher, proper, the other one is not so proper and its a bit of a light head. Anyway, I will read more of your things and give you more useful feedback as I go. I dated an ex-morphine addict two years ago, and he got clean because he spent 9 months in jail. So bravo for creating poetry instead of killing yourself!

    1. ADDICTIONS JOB IS TO KILL BUT I AM TO STUBBORN TO DIE (: I’D MUCH RATHER WRITE. THANKS FOR THE COMMENT AND I AM SO GLAD YOUR FRIEND IS FREE IT IS SUCH A GREAT FEELING.

  21. A lot of us have been struggling with addictions of one kind or another. Beating them is part of an amazing spiritual trajectory and there’s no going back. Good on you, you’re amazing!

  22. Your words are beyond powerful, it seems you pour out your soul, holding back nothing! You evoke such feeling, and the messages are sometimes hard to read, because they reach back and touch the tender parts inside of me. Thank you for sharing your blog writings. And, thanks for the like on my poem.

  23. I visit you when no one else can take my darkness I can come and bask in the after glow of the flashbulb extinguished by the gloved hand that crushed it within its grip…

  24. Very nice reading about you Latoya, You are honest & sincere.

Thanks for visiting my blog. Be in touch. Browse through the category sections,
I feel you may find something of your interest.

  25. Wow! You drew me right in – nicely done 🙂 Thanks for visiting and following Being June. Following you back!

  26. Hello Latoya,

I have felt your touch previously so I wonder if this message (cut and pasted below) is for you. I feel like I reached the end of my caregiver advocacy days.

The goal here is to get the maximum number of Comments so these will EQUAL OR EXCEED the number of visitors. If you are willing to participate then please follow this link (http://mlbergcarefreehighway.wordpress.com/2013/01/18/one-to-one-best-ever-views-to-comments-ratio/), open the post, and cast your comment upon the page (sort-of like graffitti).

    Good luck to us all.

    Dan

      1. Thank you Latoya. I appreciate your reply. I am concerned that there is too much negativity touching everyone so I thought, “Why not try something different and get people to share?” But what? In two words, “Good Thoughts.” But instead of stopping there, why not make it a game and have a little fun with it? If you would be so kind to add your own good thoughts into the post comments and then contact others until you find someone else who does the same, and so on, and so on. Kind-of like an endless game of tag where you’re only “it” once and we really rely upon our one-to-one contact to not break the thread.

What do you think? Make sense?

        Dan

      2. I really thought I was sharper (than I am) with a computer!!! I was having a little fun with “sanatize”a few years ago. Anyway the foo doo is not me (but it was for a couple of days). Ha!
