Hell Hath No Fury ~ Poetry

I bite my nails and stretch my neck hoping for a glimpse of compassion

I’ve rationed anger my love and affection
I’ve placed each betrayal filed away neatly in my mental collection
~~~
We came and we went
Trusting an illusion
~~~
Cloaked and masked as a love transfusion
~~~
Still bruised and lost in these contusions
Binge eating rage and misunderstood confusion
~~~
As he looked past me with shame
Danglin love like a carrot
Lost playing this dangerous game
~~~
I ask God for forgiveness for the Unforgivable
The unthinkable
~~~
I stare at our blood-stained sheets
His eyes blank with fear
And I know
~~~
Heaven is not my final destination
And I pray
For repentance
