Broken Sips (dVerse)

She’s been shut in for centuries

She ventured into

Wine glasses, tea cups and coffee mugs

Cracked

Leaked

Sipped

She landed back into the bottle

For another century

Broken

With crooked lips

And green with envy

  1. I don’t know if you have seen or read “The Woman in the Window,” but this piece immediately brought that to mind. It makes me wonder what is keeping the speaker trapped in this cycle. Beautiful poem!
